Clair E. "Babe" Watt

Clair E. “Babe” Watt, 90 of Washington died Tuesday-March 27, 2018 in the Washington Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born November 12, 1927 in Washington Pa. the son of the late Alexis Agustus and Mary Barbara Karlheim Watt.  Mr. Watt graduated from East Washington High School in 1946.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946 until 1949.  He was employed for 37 years as a machinist retiring from Cooper Industries on March 1, 1988.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, was a Charter Member of the Chest Spring Sportsman Club, was a member of the Anawana Sportsman Club and was a former Assistant Cub Scout Master of Pack 1305 of Canonsburg.  He enjoyed doing crafts, hunting, fishing, trapping, boating and camping with the Boy Scouts.  Most of all, Mr. Watt enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and family.

On August 23, 1952 he married Laura Marie Nickeson who died August 10, 2017.  He is survived by two sons; John P. (Theresa) Watt of Lone Pine and James P. (Judy) Watt of Prosperity, three daughters; Catherine Ann Smith of Canonsburg, Mary Barbara (David) Beddow of Amity and Clare M. (Patrick) Gallagher of Upper St. Clair, nine grandchildren; Jeffrey (Nicole) Smith, Jessica Smith, Brian (Chelsey) Smith, Gregory Smith, Christopher Watt, Valerie (Eric) McHugh, Monica (Justin) Gray, Shannon Gallagher and Michael Gallagher, eight great-grandchildren; Austin Smith, Owen Smith, Tyler Smith, Damian Smith, Tristan Smith, Madeline Gray, Hannah Gray and Kenzie McHugh.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his father, mother and wife, Mr. Watt was preceded in death by eight sisters and seven brothers and by a great-grandson; Dominic Smith.

Friends will be received on Saturday-March 31, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday-April 2, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church.  Entombment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, St. James Mausoleum.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Marine Corps.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W.
