Anthony S. Yanni

Anthony S. Yanni, 84 of Washington died Friday-August 22, 2014 in his home. He was born February 26, 1930 in McKeesport the son of the late John and Josephine Guidos Yanni. Mr. Yanni was a graduate of McKeesport High school. He along with his wife was the owner/operator of Washington Importing, a family business for many years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington where he also served as an usher for over 50 years. Mr. Yanni served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175. Mr. Yanni enjoyed his family times to the fullest with his wife and children and especially with his grandson, Anthony Peter Yanni. On September 7, 1953 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church he married Jean Audia Yanni who survives. The couple enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Surviving is a daughter; Christine Yanni of Washington (with whom they made their home), a son; Anthony Yanni of Washington, brother; John (Patrice) Yanni of Eighty Four, sisters; Anna Sisler (late Ron) of Bethel Park & Josephine (Terry) Matthews of Chesterfield, Virginia. His grandson; Anthony Peter Yanni (his pride and joy) also survives along with several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday-August 24, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday-August 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
