Eugene William "Gene" Hurt

Eugene William “Gene” Hurt, 65 of Canonsburg died Friday-November 17, 2017 at the North Strabane Rehabilitation and Wellness Center following a lengthy illness.  He was born June 11, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Frank Eugene and Yvonne Lee Hunter Hurt.  Mr. Hurt was Protestant by faith.  He was employed for over thirty years as a driver/trainer at the Meadows Racetrack.  Mr. Hurt was a member of the Fraternal Order of Bears in Meadow Lands and was a social member of the Houston American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing and golfing. 

Surviving are two daughters; Timmi Nicole (Matthew) Roberts of Toronto, Ohio and Erin Melissa Troutman of Van Voorhis, Pa., one step-son; John Burnette of Unity, Pa., four brothers; Frank (Mary) Goodman, Danny (Bonnie) Goodman, Thomas (Averi) Goodman and David ( Penny) Hurt, six grandchildren; Matthew Hawk, Christopher Troutman, PFC Shawn (Autumn) Troutman, U.S. Army, Samantha Beckwith (CPL Jesse Beckwith, U.S.M.C.), Emilie Troutman and Caleb Roberts, one great-grandson; Greyson Hawk.

Mr. Hurt was preceded in death by his wife; Deborah Kay Hurt and a sister; Ellen Jent.

Friends will be received on Tuesday-November 21, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S.
