“Well Known Area Musician”
John W. Zavatski, 82 of Washington died Sunday-May 28, 2017 in the arms of his daughter at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1934 in Washington the son of the late Stanley & Eleanor Renners Zavatski. Mr. Zavatski was employed as an Administrator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 14 years until his retirement. He was a 1953 graduate of Trinity High School and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Mr. Zavatski received his commercial pilot license. He loved to fly planes, enjoyed all aspects of nutrition, fitness & body building. His passion was music and the love he had for his family. Mr. Zavatski also served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959 receiving the Good Conduct Medal.
On October 24, 1959 he married Phyllis Ruggiero Zavatski who survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Andrea Zavatski of North Palm Beach, Florida & Joan Zavatski (Rick Graciano) of Fox Chapel & North Palm Beach Florida, a sister; Helen (Frank) Brach of Washington, a sister in law; Mildred Eonda of Washington, nieces & nephews; Frank Brach & Kristy Rea, Kaitlyn Brach, Philip Eonda, Alissa-Rae Eonda, Stanley & Steven Zavatski along with his loving family dog “Tammy”.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brother; Stanley Zavatski.
Friends will be received on Thursday-June 1, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday-June 2, 2017 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church.
