Leonora "Dolly" Sonson

Leonora “Dolly” Sonson, 89 of Washington died Monday-September 4, 2017 at St. Clair Hospital following a very brief illness.  She was born January 8, 1928 in Washington Pa. the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Longo Sonson.  Miss Sonson graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Church.  She worked as an assistant manager at G.C. Murphy’s and Ames Department Store for a total of 48 years.  She was an avid fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.  Miss Sonson enjoyed keeping statistics for Pittsburgh Pirate games for many years.  She was a huge Pirate fan.  In her younger years she enjoyed traveling, going to shows and her trips to baseball games at Forbes Field.

Surviving is a brother; Francis “Len” Sonson of Washington, nieces and nephews; Eileen (Dave), Janice (Jeff), Thomas (Janice), Leonard (Deanna), Richard (Peggy), John (Connie), Marilyn (Bogie), Lisa (Dave) and Carol (Ron).  Numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her mother and father, Miss Sonson was preceded in death by two brothers; Vincent Sonson and Francis Sonson who died at the age of two and by a sister; Marie Licata.

Friends will be received on Thursday-September 7, 2017 from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 P.M.     in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday-September 8, 2017 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev.
