Thelma M. Sonntag, 94 of Washington died Friday-February 16, 2018 at the Donnell House following a brief illness. She was born July 21, 1923 in Washington Pa. the daughter of Peter and May Welsh Sonntag. Miss Sonntag was a 1939 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed as a supervisor/trainer at Bell Telephone for 42 years from where she retired. Miss Sonntag loved to travel, sing, play the piano and organ and discuss politics. She loved watching John Wayne movies. Miss Sonntag was a true philanthropist, donating to various charitable organizations.
Surviving are three cousins; Susan (William) Milligan of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Robert (Melissa) Hessler of Chambersburg, Pa. and Kirk (Joyce) Hessler of Washington, Pa.
In addition to her mother and father, Miss Sonntag was preceded in death by one brother; Peter Sonntag Jr. who died in infancy.
Friends will be received on Wednesday-February 21, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. the hour of a blessing service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director. The Rev. Dan Waruszewski will officiate. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
