Robert J. Ballentyne Jr., 78 of Washington died unexpectedly on Friday-August 17, 2018 at the Washington Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born August 14, 1940 in Canonsburg Pa. the son of the late Robert J. and Helen Moore Ballentyne.  Mr. Ballentyne was a 1958 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School.  He served in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger holding the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Ballentyne was employed for over 40 years as an overhead crane operator and electrical technician at Pennsylvania Transformer from where he retired.  He was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175.  Mr. Ballentyne enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, target shooting and vacationing.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed.

On June 6, 1965 he married Georgia C. Hatfield who survives.  Also surviving is a son; Robert J. (Wendy) Ballentyne III of Washington, two daughters; Kim Ballentyne (John) Hupp of Washington and Karrie (Tim) Reuter of Aurora Indiana, five grandchildren; Thomas Chad Wilt, Bobby and Summer Ballentyne and Logan and Brooke Reuter.

In addition to his father and mother, Mr. Ballentyne was preceded in death by a grandson; Ryan M. Wilt.

Friends will be received on Tuesday-August 21, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. the hour of a funeral service in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave. Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Susan Falvo Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director.  The Rev. Michael Lehman will officiate.  Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville Pa.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Army.  Memorial contributions may be made to www.heroesonthewater.org  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
