Margaret A. Marra
/Margaret A. “Peggy” Marra, 90 of Washington passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was born June 13, 1932 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late William J. and Anna M. Zecker McCurry. Mrs. Marra was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish. She was first employed by Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania and was an active member of the Bell Telephone Ten Year Club. She later owned and operated J.D. Marra Hotel & Restaurant Service alongside her husband for over thirty five years. Mrs. Marra belonged to several card clubs over the years and was an excellent baker. Her life was devoted to and centered around her family both immediate and extended. Mrs. Marra’s true purpose in life was helping others and she will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
On November 28, 1959 she married Julio Dominic Marra who died December 17, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Annette Marra-Ragan of McMurray and Roslyn (Patrick) Zoccole of Sharpsville, PA; five grandchildren, Julia (A.J.) Reid, Ralph “Lennie” Corton III, Rachael Zoccole, Elizabeth Zoccole and Martin J. Ragan III; great granddaughter, Isabella Zoccole and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Marra was preceded in death by two brothers, John McCurry and William J. McCurry; a grandson, Sean Ragan and a son in law, Martin J. Ragan Jr.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, St. James Parish, 340 Henderson Ave., Washington with the Rev. Michael Peck as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
