Olivia Dee Woods

The people who had a genuine relationship with Olivia Dee Woods had their lives changed when her heart stopped beating on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

On December 4, 1949, she became the middle daughter of the late Marshall and Surburba Woods.

People who knew her would describe her as a gentle, humble, kind, hard-working and Christ-like woman.  For example, she would often work two jobs at a time.  By doing so, she was able to quietly offer assistance to so many without expectations.  A few of the places she worked were AT&T, JC Penney and PNC Bank.

Even though she could afford to have a car, she had using public transportation, and walking down to a science!  She felt that it was her duty to check on the sick with visits and phone calls, as well as keep in touch with family, friends, neighbors, church members and those who felt unappreciated.

And when she did make those "check on you calls", they were usually short and sweet!  If you ever gave her a picture, chances are, it was on her "wall of fame".  If you ever gave her a card, chances are, it was in her keepsakes.  If you did something for her, she found a way to show her appreciation, usually with money.

Even though she never married or had any of her own children, that doesn't mean she was spending her time idly rocking in a chair.  She was a special matriarch in the family.

From the extent of her siblings down to her great nieces and nephews, including spouses, she put legs on her love by making sure birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions included a card with love from her.

Her surviving siblings include: Marshall "Sonny" Woods, Lenore (Michael "Byrd") Gilliam and Wesley (Glynnis) Woods, Sr.

Deceased are Ramona Kay Dunlap and Marsha "Boots" Crooks

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Carla Dunlap, DaQuawn "DQ" Robinson, Shaqua "Qua" Robinson, Marshal (Giften) Hines, Melissa Gilliam, Michael "Mike Mike" Gilliam, Michael Gilliam, Wesley Woods, Jr. Justin Woods, Marci Grail, Michael Woods, Brande Crooks and Sean Crooks.  Olivia also leaves behind 10 great nieces & nephews.
