Dwayne "Bull" Durham
/Dwayne Durham, lovingly known as “Bull,” age 79, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Dwayne dedicated his life to service, family, and faith. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning his law enforcement career as an Aliquippa City Police Officer. He later served with distinction as a Pennsylvania State Police Sergeant. Dwayne was a graduate of Penn State University earning an associate degree. In 1999, he was recognized by the County Bar Association for his dedication and integrity, always known as a “big man with a bigger heart.” He was also recognized as a Paul Powers Man of Honor, a ministry dedicated to equipping men to cultivate a culture of honor in their homes, workplaces, and churches. This was truly a reflection of his lifelong devotion to leadership and community.
Dwayne was a lifetime member of the NAACP and served faithfully as pastor of West Union Presbyterian Church. He shared his compassion as a counselor with the Washington County Jail prison ministry, worked with the City Mission, and mentored young people through the Big Brother program. His love of fishing, writing, and helping others brought joy to both him and those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered by many as kind, caring, and deeply supportive.
Dwayne is survived by his beloved wife, Sonnie Durham; his children, Dwayna Durham, Dwayne Durham II, and Erica Durham; his brothers, George Durham and Eric Durham; and sisters, Angela and Donna. He was the proud grandfather of Tajan, Aliyah, Dasean, Jaslene and Olivia, as well as 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Durham and Mildred Patterson, and by his brothers, Willie and Ernest.
Above all, Dwayne’s life was marked by faith, love, and service to others. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Friends will be received on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
