Katherine Barni

Katherine Barni, 87 of Houston died Friday-April 29, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Canonsburg. She was born May 5, 1928 in Bentleyville the daughter of the late Michael & Anna Myrgo Twardon.  Mrs. Barni was a 1947 graduate of Bentleyville High School.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she was formerly a member of the Christian Mothers.  She was employed as a Washington Hospital Nursing Assistant for 13 years retiring in 1990.  Mrs. Barni loved to read and also was on a bowling league at the Alpine Bowling Alley for many years.  Most of all she loved spending many happy and enjoyable times with her entire family. 

On February 22, 1947 she married Norman E. Barni who died October 6, 1972.  Surviving are her children;  Daughters; Judith K. (Walter) Pittek of Pittsburgh, & Patricia “Patty” A. Weber of Houston,  Brothers; Leslie N. (Kay) Barni of Washington & Anthony M. (Joanna) Barni of Virginia,  a Sister; Olga Vlassick of Washington, 8 grandchildren;  Julie Tabish of Michigan, Joy (Derek) Taylor of Cecil, Jeremy (Kelly) Barni of Washington, Joseph (Lori) Pittek of Pottstown, Jennifer (Ray) Pittek-Karhut of Pittsburgh,  Katie (Colby) Agostinella of Strabane, Ryan Weber of Houston & Jonathan Barni of Virginia, 10 Great Grandchildren; Angie, Zackary, Jake, Mackenzie, Matthew, Gianna, Aaron, Noah, Benjamin & Claire, several nieces & nephews also survive. 

Mrs. Barni was preceded in death by a son; Edmund Paul Barni who died at childbirth, 4 brothers; John & Walter Twardon whom both died at birth & Michael and Paul Twardon. 

Friends will be received on Monday-May 2, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  A prayer service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday-May 3, 2016 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.  Burial will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, Pa.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of One’s Choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
