Jo Ann Thomas

Jo Ann Thomas, 85 of Washington died Thursday-January 21, 2016 at the Donnell House, Washington. She was born May 21, 1930 in Sewickley the daughter of the late Steve & Argero Makridakis Stavroulakis. Mrs. Thomas was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking.  She was a great homemaker.  Mrs. Thomas was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church of Canonsburg, The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, the Daughters of Penelope Club and the Pancretan Club of America.  She loved spending time with her family and her pride & joy were her grandchildren & great grandchildren. 

On November 7, 1948 she married George A. Thomas who survives.  George & Jo Ann celebrated 67 years of marriage.  Also surviving are three sons; Gregory M. (Christy) Thomas of Washington, George A. (Anita) Thomas Jr. of Moon Twp. and Christopher A. (Lucinda) Thomas ofMaylene, Alabama, a brother; John “Chuck” (Glenda) Stavroulakis of Burgettstown, a sister; Josephine Estel of Sacramento, California, a total of 16 grandchildren & great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces & nephews. 

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a brother; George Stanley. 

Friends will be received on Sunday-January 24, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc. Wilson at E. Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  Trisagion services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.  Additional visitation will be held on Monday-January 25, 2016 in the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. the hour of a funeral service with Father George L. Livanos officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.  Memorial contributions can be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 West McMurray Rd.
