Walter R. Klick

Walter R. Klick, 95 of Houston died Tuesday-July 12, 2016 at the Donnell House. He was born April 6, 1921 in Pittsburgh the son of the late Michael & Josephine T. Ruffalo Klick. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He graduated from Washington High School in January of 1940. He was previously employed at Cameron Coca Cola & for the Washington City Police Department as a Sgt. for over 20 years until his retirement. He had also been employed at Jessop Steel for 4 years and at the Department of Welfare for 17 years retiring in 1986. Mr. Klick served in the United States Army Air Force receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, the American Theatre Ribbon, the Good Conduct Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175, the F.O.P. Lodge # 95 City of Washington, the SNPJ # 138, a founding member of the Independent Club & the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #776. Mr. Klick loved golfing, gardening and was an avid sports fan. He was a true family man. He loved spending time with his family & friends especially the time he spent with his grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren.

On March 15, 1944 he married Ruth Marie Larkin who died April 28, 2001. Surviving are his children; daughter; Patricia Ann (Chris) Jarvis of Washington, sons; Michael Edward (Katherine) Klick of Prosperity & Martin “Marty” Walter Klick of Washington, 9 grandchildren; Jennifer (Eric) Siller, Lynn (Ryan) Kelly, Jennifer (Thomas) Miklavic, Michael (Rachel) Klick, David (Michelle) Klick, Hannah Jo Klick, Kyle Connors, Sue Klick & Karah Klick, 14 great grandchildren & 4 great- great grandchildren. Mr. Klick is also survived by his loving companion of 16 years; Eleanor McGowan. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Mr. Klick was preceded in death by a daughter; Kathleen who died at birth, a grandson; Nathan Hogue and a sister; Mary Rose Wheatley.

Friends will be received on Thursday-July 14, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. The F.O.P. Lodge # 95 City of Washington will hold a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home. A blessing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday-July 15, 2016 in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Ruffalo officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville Pa.
