Rita Ann Hughes-Garrick, 66 of Washington died Saturday-August 5, 2017 at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.  She was born November 16, 1950 in Washington the daughter of the late Edward “Red” Hughes & Rosemary Mantia Hughes Hanna.  Mrs. Garrick was Catholic by faith.  She served in the United States Army receiving the National Defense Service Medal.  She was a fun loving person, always making people laugh but most of all had a deep passionate love for her family especially her grandchildren. 

Surviving are her children; a daughter; Tracy (Howard) McCrory of Washington and a son, Eric (Kristie) Shrum of Washington, 2 brothers; Edward Hughes of Washington & Jimmy (Tracie Henderson) Hughes of Washington, sister; Vicki Dever, brother in law; Jim Newman, 2 grandchildren; Mia & Rhi Shrum both of Washington, step-father; Rich (Evelyn) Hanna of Washington, several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews also survive. 

Mrs. Garrick was preceded in death by a sister; Carol Newman, brother in law; Larry Dever, sister in law; Kathy Hughes, a niece; Heather Hughes.

Friends will be received on Friday-August 11, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director.  Private entombment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military rites being accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 and the United States Army.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
