Frances Ann Raspet

Frances Ann Raspet, 92, of McGovern Road, Houston, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023 after a brief illness.

She was born July 22, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of the late Stanley A. and Alice H. Negle Balazy.  She graduated from Washington High School and was employed by both First National Bank and Harrison-Shields.  Frances was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, a member of the Christian Mothers of the Miraculous Medal Church and worked diligently with the Chartiers Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in the past.  She was politically active and quite vocal in her beliefs.

She married the late Walter Raspet on September 19, 1953, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church.  They were married for 50 years.  Fran was a friend to many and never met a stranger.  Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, going to the casinos, playing bingo, and traveling.  Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and grand-dogs were her pride and joy.  She was lovingly referred to by her grandchildren as Granny Franny.

She is survived by her 3 children, Debra Cummings (Gary) of Zelienople, Michael Raspet (Mary) of Magnolia, Texas, and Michelle Siders (Jeff) of Houston; sister, Patricia Getzik of Mt. Lebanon; sister in law, Maxine Balazy of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Allison O'Brien (Matt) of Cranberry, Matthew Cummings (Kat) of Pittsburgh, and Katherine Burkholder (David) of Rochester, MN; great grandchildren, Oliver and Molly O'Brien and Jamie Burkholder; grand-dogs, Bindi, and Leo and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Raspet and her siblings, Stanley Balazy and Dorothy Balazy.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, February 10, 2023 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, St. Oscar Romero Parish, Meadowlands with the Rev.
