Genevieve Rose Smith

Genevieve Rose “Gen” Smith, 72 of Washington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the Canonsburg General Hospital with her husband by her side.  She was born March 5, 1950 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth McMaster Haskey.  Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, relaxing on her back porch watching the birds and deer and sitting alongside her husband while he fished.  She loved spending time with her husband doing just about anything.  Mrs. Smith was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

On December 20, 1965 she married David E. Smith Sr. who survives.  The couple had been married for over 57 wonderful years.

Also surviving is a daughter, Jenny Smith of Washington; two sons, David E. (Amy) Smith Jr. of New Brighton, PA and Robert J. (Lynn) Smith of Washington; two brothers, Richard E. Haskey of Washington and Oliver (Henrietta) Haskey of Washington; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Larry Haskey and by her sister in law, April Lynn Haskey.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
