David Joseph Denbow
/David “Dave” Joseph Denbow, 87, died unexpectedly in Ashville, NC on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born in Baltimore, MD, on January 18, 1938 a son of the late David Boyd and Helen McKewen Denbow. After graduating from Towson High School, Dave enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served from May 7, 1959 until May 6, 1962.
Upon completion of his military service, Dave began a long term career with General Electric, as a Service Technician. He was an avid softball player and had the honor of playing in the Senior Softball Olympics. In his later years Dave took up Pickle Ball and played very competitively, and as often as possible.
Dave married Betty Jane Craft on August 26, 1961. They had three children; Michael Wayne, Melinda Leigh and David Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jane Craft Denbow; his son, Michael Wayne, and brothers, William Denbow, Robert Denbow, Francis Denbow and Charles Denbow.
Dave began a new chapter in life when he moved to Washington, PA in 2023. He married Jacqueline L. Dragics on December 14, 2024, and was welcomed by Jackie's extended family and wonderful friends. Dave and Jackie were active members of the Faith United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Dragics; his children, Melinda (Frank) Wilson and David (Ana) Denbow; grandchildren, Olivia (Jason) Buzard, Rebecca Wilson, Hannah Wilson and Grayson Denbow and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Buzard and Nolan Buzard; siblings, Thomas Denbow, Jean (Cas) Zoltowski, Mary Sue Doyle and Joan (Leslie) Heinen. Numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews along with his bonus children, Bob Nist and Cindy (Rhett) Hartzog and grandchildren, Alec and Jackson McLarty and Nina Nist also survive.
A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director. The family will start receiving visitors at 1:00 P.M., followed by a celebration of life starting at 2:00 P.M. All are welcome to attend.
