Ann Marquerite Seibel

Ann Marquerite Seibel, 97, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

She was born September 16, 1927, to Chauncey Alexander Ewing and Marquerite McKie Ewing in Claysville, Pa.  During Ann’s childhood, Chauncey was the principal at Trinity High School, and Marquerite’s love of music set Ann on a path of knowledge and a life filled with music.  Ann was one of three siblings and was predeceased by her beloved older brother, J. William Ewing, and her dear sister, Ruth Marlin.

In September of 1951, Ann married the love of her life, John “Jack” Seibel.  Together, they built a warm and loving home on Sylvan Drive in North Franklin, where they raised their two sons, J. Dorian and D. Bradley.

At the age of 47, Ann fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She attended and graduated from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing and went on to serve her community with compassion and skill. She worked in the coronary care unit and GI lab at Washington Hospital before transitioning into Nursing Home Care.  Her calm presence, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication made a lasting impact on countless patients and families.

Ann loved her family more than anything in the world.  Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by those she loved, whether it was a quiet conversation, a holiday gathering, or a family dinner around the table.  With a warm smile and gentle strength, she brought out the best in everyone around her.  Her favorite saying, “Do the best you can with what you have,” was not just advice, it was the way she lived her life. Ann’s selfless love, unwavering positivity, and quiet resilience touched all who knew her.  Her presence was a comfort to all and her love a lasting gift.

She was welcomed into eternal rest by her loving parents, Chauncey and Marquerite Ewing; her devoted husband, Jack Seibel; her cherished son, D. Bradley Seibel; her dear brother, J. William Ewing; and her beloved sister, Ruth Marlin.  Though her absence leaves an ache in the hearts of those who remain, there is comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she held so dear.

Surviving are her son, J. Dorian Seibel and his wife, Karen; her grandson, D. Dorian Seibel and his wife, Lyndsay and their son, Nolan; and her grandson, Cole Allen Seibel and his wife, Morgan and their daughters, Marina and Cassia.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 900 E. Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301, with a luncheon to follow.  All who knew and loved Ann are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
