David Matthew Voytek

David Matthew Voytek was born on May 3, 1998, to Angela Sanders and Matt (Erin) Piatt.  He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2026.  David is survived by his parents and stepfather, Jason (Kinley) Voytek; brother, Caleb Voytek; siblings, Gauge and Mallory Piatt, and siblings, Logan and Violet Voytek; his adoring grandmother, Darlene Headley and grandfather, Michael Sanders; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

David graduated high school in 2017 and most recently worked for Perryman Corporation as a CNC operator.

Known to his friends as “Big Dave,” he was loved by all who met him. David was notorious for his love of cooking and smoking meat, collecting guns, and listening to country music.  His unwavering tenaciousness, quick wit, and loving time with family were only some of his most endearing traits.  His absence leaves an unfillable void.

David was preceded in death by his very best friend and partner in crime, Pappy Ted.  “Mopey” and Pappy Ted’s adventures kept them virtually inseparable through Ted’s passing in 2018.  They loved going to Trader Jack’s flea market, car shows, gun shows, and anything else David could dream up.

David was also preceded in death by his cherished grandmother, Shirley Sanders, as well as several other beloved family members.  He will forever be missed.

“Above all, do not lament my absence.  For in my Spark, I know that this is not the end, but merely a new beginning.  Simply put, another transformation.” – Optimus Prime
