Edward Friend
/Edward Friend, 88, formerly of Marianna, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, August, 14, 2026 at CareOne Moorestown, New Jersey. He was born June 12, 1938 in Eighty Four, Pa., a son of the late Pauline and Ralph Friend.
Edward graduated from Trinity High School Class of '56. Following high school, he enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for the next three years. He would later become employed at RCA Meadowlands where he initially worked as a wireman and later as a purchasing agent. It was at RCA where he would meet his future wife, Phyllis Comoski Friend who passed away in 2015. Edward loved his work and his coworkers with whom he would form strong and lasting relationships. As a loyal and valued employee he would continue his role as a senior buyer through multiple corporate acquisitions eventually retiring from Lockheed Martin Moorestown after 50 years of service.
But more than his career, Edward loved his wife and their life together on a small farm in West Bethlehem Township. The farm was a place Edward truly felt at home, spending countless hours outdoors, tending to the animals, mowing the acres of hillside on his Ford tractor and providing memorable experiences for his three children.
He would later move with the family to Marlton, NJ. While no longer living at the farm, Edward remained passionate about being outside, meticulously mowing the lawn and working on numerous projects around the house.
Edward is survived by his son, Jeff Friend of Marlton N.J.; daughter, Paulajo Friend Easterly of Medford N.J.; son, Jason Friend of West Chester, Pa. and his cherished granddaughter, Hannah Friend of West Chester whom he loved dearly.
He is also survived by his brother, John Friend of Carmichael Pa., as well as his sister, Carol Brewer of Scenery Hill, Pa.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his older sister, Shirley Gallik and brother, Richard Friend.
Edward was a caring and devoted husband and father. He was a true gentleman; kind, patient, humble and always willing to help those around him. He lived his life instilling the values of hard work, honesty and integrity and will be missed by all those who loved him.
