John J. Svetz, 73 of Claysville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 in his home. He was born October 16, 1952 in Canonsburg, PA a son of the late Elmer R. Svetz and Faye Wray Grimm. Mr. Svetz was a graduate of Trinity High School and served in the United States Army. He was the proud Owner/Operator of Wayne W. Sell in Sarver, PA for 53 years. Mr. Svetz enjoyed working in the garage, going to breakfast with friends, horseback riding, boating, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He also loved animals especially his horse, Dewey; his dog, Cash; and his two cats, Penny and Screach. Mr. Svetz was a grumpy, hard headed sweetheart who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving is his partner, Mary; two brothers, Leonard A. Svetz and Alan R. (Sophie) Svetz and one sister, Sherry Svetz Crawford. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

At the request of the deceased all funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director. A celebration of life will be held at a future date and time to be announced.
