Robert Jack Worthington

Robert Jack Worthington, 90 of Avella died unexpectedly Tuesday-November 22, 2016 at 11:40 a.m. near his home. He was born April 19, 1926 in Taylorstown the son of the late Robert J. and Dorothy Elizabeth Dalton Worthington. Mr. Worthington was employed as a crane operator for Washington Steel for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Claysville. He was also a member of the Stateline Saddle Club, a gun club in Potter County and the American Legion Post # 639 Claysville. Mr. Worthington loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed his horses, hunting, fishing and loved baseball. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed his family to the fullest. Mr. Worthington served in the United States Army during World War II.

On June 18, 1944 he married Lyndall Hertig Worthington who died January 4, 2011. Surviving are his children; Barbara (Bob) Conkle, Deborah (William) Bowersock, & Pamela (Dan) Buchleitner, 10 Grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren along with several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his mother, father and wife, Mr. Worthington was also preceded in death by a daughter; Jackie Worthington and a brother; Charles Worthington.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Burial will be private.
