Betty J. Verno Falvo

Betty J. Verno Falvo, 98 of Washington passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Strabane Woods, with her family by her side.  She was born June 8, 1927 in Washington, PA a daughter of the late Anthony and Viola Stage Verno.  Mrs. Falvo was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School where she was a cheerleader.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking.  Mrs. Falvo was a former member of the Washington Hospital Auxiliary.  She was an avid golfer and along with her late husband was a member of the Washington Country Club, Lone Pine Country Club and the Quail Ridge Golf Club of Boyton Beach, Florida.  Mrs. Falvo and her husband spent the winters at Quail Ridge for close to forty years.  The couple also traveled to St. Andrews, Scotland and Ireland to play and enjoy the beautiful golf courses.  She also at one time enjoyed bowling and was a member of several Washington and Quail Ridge bowling leagues.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On July 27, 1947 she married Joseph D. Falvo who passed away on August 16, 1998.  Surviving is a daughter, Judy (Bill) Baxendell of Washington; five grandchildren, Bill (Tina Workman White) Baxendell Jr., Jody (Fiance`:Jason Francis) Sprowls, Holly Warco, S. Timothy (Allison) Warco II and A.J. Warco and seven great grandchildren, Kayla and Braden Baxendell, Mackenzie and Tristan Sprowls and Timmy III, Brennen and Ameila Warco.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Mrs. Falvo was the last of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Falvo Warco and by a brother, William Verno.

The family would like to thank the staff at Strabane Woods and Gateway Hospice for their loving care and compassion that they gave to Betty during her two month stay there as a resident.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Ave., Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner/Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in the Washington Cemetery, Serenity Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to A Leg to Stand at www.altso.org.  Condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com
