Bakari Hakeem Ali

Bakari Hakeem Ali, 29, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.  He was born March 22, 1996, in Washington, a son of Erica (Gerald) Thomas.  Bakari was a 2014 graduate of Washington High School.  He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family, and his loving dog, Laya.  Bakari was a friend to everyone he met and shared so much life and love.

Surviving, along with his mother, are his uncles, more like brothers, William (Brandi) Wheeler, Kevin Wise and Michael (Jessica) Wise; His “Pops”, Howard Matten and his grandmother, Margretta Sadler, along with various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his grandmother and second Mother, Carolyn Wheeler. All services will be private. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
