Charles R. Harris

Charles R. Harris, 96 of Washington, PA, Chartiers Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.  He was born April 30, 1929 in Erbacon, West Virginia a son of the late Oren and Cleo Sutton Harris.  Mr. Harris was a graduate of Washington High School.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan.  Mr. Harris was employed by Bell Telephone as an Installer for over thirty years.  He was a member of Washington Lodge # 164 F. & A.M. where he was a 32 Degree Mason and was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.  Mr. Harris was also a member of The Bell Telephone Pioneer Club and he loved to talk about the Bell Telephone Days.  He enjoyed mowing grass and liked Cub Cadet Tractors.  Mr. Harris will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On November 20, 1953, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he married Lois E. Rhoades who passed away on January 8, 2020.  Surviving is a son, Casey (Carol) Harris of Washington; a daughter, Susan (Jason) Fulton of Washington and four grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Samantha (Mitch) and Jacob (Julie).

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a brother, Donald and by a half-brother, Paul.
